Seems to me that the average wait is about 90 days. I began contacting DPS at about 60 days or so. Someone should be working on your app by then. Might want to contact them and ask to speak to the tech who is working on your file and build a good rapport. Good luck!

I honestly believe that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. As soon as I hit my 60 day mark I was contacting them. Any time before that is pointless.

I started calling as soon as I hit the 60 day mark or so. Once you reach that threshold you are well within youre rights to know what is going on with your application. It took about another 30 days for me to get approval. I should be receiving my license within a few days or so.

You can carry in your vehicle as long as it is concealed. If you are pulled over and you do have your weapon in the vehicle you can declare it. It IS NOT against the law to carry in your vehicle in Texas. It is part of the castle doctrine. Just make sure not to body carry unless it's from your place...

Don't give up hope. Just do other things with your time like carry indoors for practice, go to the range, practice concealing with different clothes. Before you know it you will have it!
