I don't have mine programmed for that reason. We use the remotes and take them in the house with us.

Even if they get into my garage there’s a couple more lines of defense. In reality nothing is burglar proof and anything can be defeated with the correct knowledge. I found this video interesting:

In my younger days I probably would just unscrew the light bulb on my opener after dark and sit inside until someone to open the garage door and point a green laser that may be attached to a metallic lead projector. Surprise!

A smart criminal makes for a tough opponent, fortunately most aren’t smart. On one of the gun forums they mentioned a jewelry store with alarms on wireless and land line that was defeated and the store cleaned out without an alarm going off. That’s not your typical criminal but anything can be defeated so I do what I can and have insurance for the rest.
