Re: Employee Handbook (EH)
Any legal types care to review the entry from my Employee handbook I posted? I interpret it loosely as "don't say anything and it is probably okay according to the laws and jurisdiction where I work", but knowing what I think I do about Texas law, the intent would be to give the employer the final say and does restrict carry.

Re: Employee Handbook (EH)
Mine reads like this:
Not sure what that means, but I think it means NO CARRY.1 POLICY
The unauthorized use, possession, sale, purchase, or distribution of weapons,
alcohol, illegal drugs, or the improper/abusive use of legally prescribed drugs,
or other intoxicating substances, or being impaired, in the workplace or in the
course and scope of employment is strictly prohibited. The Company will
utilize every reasonable measure to maintain a drug, alcohol and weapon free
work environment and expects personnel to abide by any and all applicable
governmental regulations on this subject.
2 PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to advise all personnel of the Company’s position on
drugs, alcohol and weapons in the workplace, and to provide a safe work
environment, free from the use, sale, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs or
drug paraphernalia, the improper or abusive use of legal drugs, dangerous weapons,
or the unauthorized possession or consumption of alcohol in the workplace.
3 SCOPE
This policy covers the following: (1) persons employed by the Company in safety
sensitive positions (2) all other persons employed by the company on a full-time,
part-time or temporary basis, and (3) all persons in the workplace. Lease or contract
personnel performing work for the Company, whether or not in the workplace, or
other third parties in the workplace, are subject to this policy to the maximum extent
practicable.
The scope of this policy may be limited by the laws of the various jurisdictions where
the Company and its subsidiaries conduct business. To the extent the provisions of
this policy contravene the laws of a jurisdiction, the laws of the jurisdiction shall
govern, and such offending provisions shall be deemed stricken from this policy as it
relates to Company operations in the jurisdiction; and the remaining provisions shall
not be affected thereby. All reverences to laws or statutes in this policy shall be
deemed to refer to the appropriate governing authority in a jurisdiction, or to comply
with client requirements.
The Company and its subsidiaries may adopt a policy or guidelines to replace
or modify this policy, in whole or in part, or to add additional or stricter
requirements to govern Company operations in a specific jurisdiction or for a
specific client.
