A freeze would never fly, as it would put a severe crimp in the Socialist plan to take from the working and give to the voluntarily not working.

Revision to Stimulus Plan
The bailout monies are approximately $750billion.
The population of the US as of July 2008 was approximately $303million.
Wouldn't it have been more of a direct stimulus to send $2,475 to each citizen of the US for use in spending (maybe in the form of a VISA card so it wouldn't go directly into savings)?
I could buy another rifle and some ammo with that much money.
