I would also guess that any cogent analysis of the sources for guns going into Mexico would reveal the following:Lodge2004 wrote:I would guess that ALL guns are purchased legally and 95% is probably a correct number as well. Some day a real reporter will provide a breakdown showing how many of those firearms were cycled through the Mexican police and military before reaching the cartels. The moment that happens, the topic will change. The left will still push gun-control, they will just have to shift the "reason". After a period of time, when the "public" forgets these lies, the articles will reappear to support more bans. It's a never ending cycle of lies. Goebbels would be proud.stevie_d_64 wrote:Mexico has long tried to get the United States to curtail the number of guns — many purchased legally — that wind up south of the border, where gun laws are much stricter. The State Department says firearms obtained in the U.S. account for an estimated 95 percent of Mexico's drug-related killings.
-Gun laws in Mexico are Draconian
-Guns purchased legally in the US (private and non-military in nature) and transferred to Mexico for whatever purposes make up an extremely small percentage of guns used in Drug trafficing and other illegal activities
-Guns purchased legally in the US for Military and para-Military purposes for legitimate use in Mexico make up a larger percentage of guns used in Drug trafficing and other illegal activities
-The vast majority of guns obtained in the US and used in Mexico for bad stuff are procured illegally.
All of the above is my opinion and is pure supposition.
