You're right. It looks like the string is tied to the end of the spring guide that should go into a slot in the rear of the receiver, but here is tied further back to the stock. The other end is tied to the stock through the trigger guard. Without a channel to contain the spring as it compresses, I sure wouldn't put my face behind it and pull the trigger.brhalltx wrote:Looks like there's a string tied to the spring... With nothing to anchor the recoil spring to, there would be nothing to stop the bolt's rearward travel.
