Surgical elastic is the material used in many commercial belly band holsters. Its big advantages are that it stays in place well and gives with your movements to maintain comfort. Its drawback is that it may not provide enough stability in the 1.5 - 1.75 inch width you'd need to use to fit most existing IWB holsters.Droshi wrote:Good ideas!
When I tried with a cheap IWB holster I couldn't find anything comfortable. I'm hoping the MTAC I ordered will fill the bill. But even as mentioned here it could probably be easily modified in a reversible way to use either clips or a belly band. Any ideas on what would be the most ideal material for a thin comfortable belly band? I was even thinking some thin buckskin might be nice....
Then again, you could simply purchase a commercial belly band holster with the holster built in. They work quite well, especially with lightweight framed guns.
