Work got posted
Well, as I came into work this morning and was to get my access badge out to swipe it, I noticed they had placed a 30.06 sign right above the swipe sensor. It had the correct language, in both English and Spanish, constrasting colors, but the letters might not be big enough. I don't carry inside the...

Re: best earmuffs
Another fan of Howard Leight products here. Have a pair of Leightnings as well as a bucket of in the ear foamies from them for back-up (double up, guests, people who forget ear protetion, etc).

There are a couple of Red's as well (also are indoor ranges). North location is in Pflugerville. South location is in Austin near Oak hill.

Fighting humidity
Howdy, Has anyone ever refinished their gun with a Duracoat/Gunkote/Bearcoat/etc or hard chrome in order to fight corrosion due to carrying? I live in Houston and just recently got my CHL and have a blued 1911 and leather holsters (both OWB and IWB). At the end of the day I noticed very faint corros...

heck of birthday
Well guys, just checked today and: "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". Its been a rough wait. I took my class on March 1st (Saturday). I mailed it in around the 4th, and it was in Austin on the 6th. Month and half passed by and I got my PIN. Weeks later I got no...

Re: Utah CFP - Houston?
I would be interested in a Houston class. I am also facing a long wait after resubmitting finger prints.

Re: Spoke with a 'Steve' at DPS
I just spoke to a "Steve" today myself. I have some more waiting to do. Turns out after I submitted a second pair of prints in mid June, they were just sitting there without action until late July. They are "out" right now so they dont know if they are good enough yet or not. I m...

Re: Waiting 120+ days
I have a similar time frame to RugerP345's. Had the class March 1st, delivered to austin early the following week, got pin several weeks later, had to retake prints, and mailed off new prints the same day as Ruger.
Maybe it will come in time for my birthday in mid August.

Re: March Applicants
Right now everybody's concern is rejected prints. They seem to be popping up alot lately (maybe also related due to the rise in applications). I applied in early March, got my PIN later on, then got my prints rejected during a time when my fingers were covered in blisters. I just mailed off my new p...

Re: Rejected Fingerprints
Seems like everybody is getting rejected prints nowadays. I did a thread on my rejected fingerprints about 3-4 weeks ago. When I was notified of my rejected prints I had some blisters on my fingers so I had to wait until they healed up so I wouldnt get any weird anomalies when retaking them. I did m...

Re: Fingerprints
Well, I've had to postpone my trip to the FAST place. I got a little boo-boo on on finger that resulted in a blister. So I have to wait out a few more days so it looks 100% again. I dont want to get those set rejected because of a little nick/blister. On a positive note, my order from Milt Sparks ar...
