Re: Let's hear some updates!

Application mailed to DPS 28 March 2008... Check website today...125 days later...status changed to Application Completed - certificate issued :clapping: It's rather anticlimactic now, and I really won't believe it until the postal service delivers the plastic. The term "government service"...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

After an inquiry from Rep. Taylor's office, the DPS called me yesterday. I spoke with a very nice lady who told me the FBI check is done and they are only waiting for local checks to be completed. She also said the license has been printed and it's in the file (she actually had her hands on it) and ...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

The word is "ACCOUNTABILITY". :clapping: :iagree: I was quite surprised that Rep. Taylor's office responded to my e-mail the very next day. :clapping: According to his aid, I should expect to hear from the DPS next week. :bigear: I won't hold my breath, but if our reps hear from enough of...

Re: Should I email my rep (100+ days and counting)?

I mailed my application package to DPS on March 28. It was entered into the system on April 9, so they have had it about 90 days now. I sent an e-mail to my state Rep yesterday afternoon. One of his aids replied this afternoon: Thank you for contacting Rep. Taylor's office with your concerns about t...

I suspect I will not see the plastic until sometime in July.

Re: Got up Stretched the Legs, called DPS

That's their story and they're sticking to it. I got the same response last week when I called: "Everthing thing looks good...We're just waiting on the background check...It's taking 90 to 120 for new applications...yada yada yada." It's just as well, I had to send my pistol to the manufac...

Re: Class of March 8th

Today is day 50. I mailed the app on 3/28, but I don't know when they received it, so I'm going with April 1 to make the math easy. However, that's another story which concerns another fine nameless government institution. Birthday next week. What are the odds I will see the plastic by then? Not goo...
