Re: June 2009 Applications
Received plastic this Saturday, 9/5/09. Carried to a family bar-b-cue on Sunday and then out in public for the first time at my local HEB. I have been carrying at home with friends over so much while Ive been waiting for my license I wasn't to worried out in public.

Re: June 2009 Applications
While I know it will say "Processing Application" for a while now, I still like to check mine every couple of days so I know quickly if it changes to some sort of error or hold up. That way I can get it resolved asap. But yeah...looks like were in the waiting period now.ezenbrowntown wrote:Just received my PIN number on Saturday. Re: June 2009 Applications
Mailed packer on June 16th and I got my pin in the mail today!
Now I just need to keep an eye on the status instead of the mailbox. One step closer!

Re: June 2009 Applications
Does anyone know if out of state BG checks take any longer because they are out of state?
I used to live in NJ, which means they wont be flooded with CHL applications since it would take an act of God to get one. But im sure they are still affected by hiring freezes, lay-offs, and normal criminal BG checks. I was just wondering if the fact that it is out of state will cause any delay.

Re: June 2009 Applications
Yeah....makes me a little nervous as well. I think Id rather the wait. As long as I dont get denied (I dont have any reason to)...if I get denied then I will appeal it.
I guess next time I just need to do FTF

Re: June 2009 Applications
I know I just mailed in my application only a little over a week ago but this thing needs to hurry up!
I tried to purchase a rifle today and when they called for the BG check they decided to put me on hold for a few days! This has never happened before. I know I have a very common last name round here so I made sure to put my SSN on the 4473 to help with any confusion. Appearently that didnt work.
I guess Im just eager to get my rifle and dont feel like waiting. Either way, once I have that CHL hopefully things will go a little more smoothly next time.

Re: June 2009 Applications
Took the course Jan 10th 09 and just mailed off the packet today (wife paid for the class but I had to save up for the DPS fee). Of course I checked it like 5 times over before actually sealing the envelope (like the ink was going to magically disappear or something after each time I checked).
Looks like we will all be getting to know each other very well in here!
