Re: April Applications
It kills me to see you guys having these issues!! I've seen alot of posts saying it "slows down the process" if you call your Rep., the only thing I see it ACTUALLY does is hold DPS accountable to a "Higher Power" than just the "Applicant". No matter what is said I see now that calling my Rep., and Gov. Perrys office actually helped me, if even just a few days. Good Luck to all of you and Safe Carrying!!!

Re: April Applications
So I took your advice and called DPS they tranfered me to Heather she is a VERY NICE person. She is going over to get some # from the finger print guy and she will Issue my license and send it. OOOPS, she just called she got the # from the guy in fingerprints and SHE IS DROPPING IT IN THE MAIL RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!! Its kinda funny because I read her the post from "2001stroke" and told her how popular she is or will become and she had no Idea about the forum, but now maybe she will be checking in with us and actually be on "Our Side". WALLY WALK HERE I COME!!!!2001Stroke wrote:
I just got off of the phone with the DPS and the first person I talked to said they had to transfer me to there supervisor because she was handling my file personally. I got scared because I thought something must be wrong with my application. She got on the phone, put me on hold, and when she came back on she said that everything was complete and she would PUT MY LICENSE IN THE MAIL FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know if it helped but I have been calling about every other day to check on my status. Looking at most of the other timelines in the waiting room it looks like I got mine pretty fast! Just over 80 days! So it might be worth it to give them a call -800-224-5744 and tell them you are checking on the status of your application. They will ask for your SS# and then tell you exactly where the process is. I'll be in here until my license arrives and then off to WAL-MART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: April Applications
Looks like you sent yours about at the same time I did. My application was opened in Austin on the 11th, so that may be a good starting point for you too. I recieved my PIN# about 2 weeks ago, all it says is "Processing Application". Be prepared to see those GOD FORSAKEN words for a while!!!

Re: April Applications
So today I got a letter from DPS it basically said " Gov. Perry's office called to check on your app. , we've got your app. and we'll expidite it and get it to you as soon as possible, and if I had any questions to call Jan Coffee" with her E-Mail address and phone number. Heck its something!!! Its been about 100 days and I'm grasping at straws!! Maybe it wont be too much longer!!!!

Re: April Applications
Man I got my PIN last week, hopefully I'll get mine in a week or so , what do you think, is that possible or was yours an acception???03Lightningrocks wrote:Don't let that bother you. This whole pin thing is extremely overblown. I was all worked up over not having a pin for more than 90 days. I got my pin and within a week my license was on the way. The pin means nothing other than somebody has typed your info into the computer. It has nothing to do with whether or not they are working on your application.Kythas wrote:Hit 60 days today. Still no PIN.

Re: April Applications
Sounds like you need to call your Rep. Again so they will light a fire under them!!! Another 60 Days isnt acceptable to "Check Signitures", they need to get real......getusumtx wrote:I posted this in another thread, but figured I'd put it in here as wellOkay..So I now know they have no clue as to whats going on in Austin. I just got off the phone with someone from the DPS(they actually called me) saying that my application would be another 60 days before it even began the background check process. They have to verify i signed all the right places, the prints were correct and my photo is okay. She also spoke incredibly fast,so im pretty sure she was reading from a list of canned responses. SO..From two different people,I got two completely different answers.....I suppose i just hope i receive it before Christmas.

Re: April Applications
Good. My whole thaught process is we are ALL in the same boat here. All of us are Brothers and Sisters hanging in the "Waiting Room" so any help or advice we can give will help us ALL in the end...We dont need to argue and fight its GOOD to have a difference of opinion... Now to the point at hand, Im still waiting after almost 80 days and still no PIN!!!!getusumtx wrote:No..you didn't. I think he was just trying to stop things before they got heated. in the other thread, it was only a matter of minutes before it exploded and tempers raged.Did I miss something?? I didnt Honestly think anyone was getting "Heated", was I wrong??? If I was wrong, I apoligize for any Dis-Respect...
