What's Google?

Kidding. Thanks for your reply. Can they look me up by name or do I need to have a copy of the packet I mailed in?

Number to call?...

I mailed my paperwork in on April 24 and have had no communication with the State (to or from) on the progress of my license. Is there a phone number I can call (and should I) to inquire about the status?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Help for a confused purchaser

Thanks again for all your replies - great info and help so far. To answer a previous question, if I carry OWB, I'll probably just have an untucked polo shirt or untucked button down shirt as my "cover garment". If I go this route with my 5" 1911 .45 Springer, I'm guessing I should get...

Re: Help for a confused purchaser

Thanks to all replies. I won't be carrying during the week because my office prohibits it. So, my carrying will be restricted to weekends where I wear nothing but jeans. I tried to put an IWB holster in my favorite pair of jeans yesterday but it just didn't work - the jeans were too fitted and it wo...

Help for a confused purchaser

Set-up - I have been shooting for 15 years. Rifles, pistols, shotguns. I currently own a Glock 17, Ruger 4" GP100 (Stainless) and 5" Springfield Loaded .45 (Stainless), as well as numerous shotguns and rifles. I have taken my CHL Class, qualified with a Semi-Auto (100% on the test!) and am...

Sig 232 holster options

I'm still waiting for my plastic but have narrowed my first carry gun options down to a few; one being the Sig P232 .380 Two-Tone. I know the .380 caliber isn't the most recommended cartridge for carry, but the guns size and reliability make up for that in my mind. I own full size revolvers, Glock 1...

Just got home...

Took my initial registration class today and it was great! Class was very informative and I feel as if I took away great knowledge that I will be able to reference for years to come. And, to top it off, I was the only one of 15 in my class that scored a 100% on both written and shooting proficiency ...

passport holders

I'm going to class this Saturday for my initial license. I know the facility provides fingerprints, applications, testing, photos, etc., but do they usually provide the passport holder that I've read on the checklist I need?

Thanks in advance.

to all that have replied...

Thank you, kindly. I've been reading this forum now for 2 days and can already tell I came to the right place. Nice, friendly members, sound advice and a willingness to help answer the questions of the now "soon to be CHL holder". I'm increasingly excited to take my class on Saturday - not...

Thanks for your reply. I will take the class this Saturday and then carry when I feel up to it (and comfortable).

To CHL or not to CHL

I've been shooting all forms of firearms for about 15 years now. I've always had an interest in obtaining my CHL, but just haven't ever "pulled the trigger". I have the opportunity to take the course this Saturday; I'm having second thoughts now on if I want to spend the money to proceed. ...
