Lucky for me, I have a younger brother that's a lawyer, so I can call him 24/7. You can give them your basic info. such as name, address and etc. but you can also say "Officer I would be more than happy to answer any and all of your questions, but I wish to have my attorney present." You need to appear your willing to help at the same time your saving your own skin.

While reading a post by longtooth about why he carries 24/7, I came across this video on the same blog that he linked to. Look I'm all for helping the police, but not at the cost of my own skin.
