Re: Let's hear some updates!
It makes sense to me. I just received my pin last Friday after 3 months. I also received a letter on Thursday telling me I screwed up. I am a March application and they are working mine. I bet the April apps are just around the bend.Anvilfire wrote:Called today and was told it would be three weeks before I entered in the system. Said they were still processing March's application, something is not right with this picture.

Re: Let's hear some updates!
It looks like they are picking up the pace a bit. Maybe it just looks that way because folks who post here are starting to get processed.

Re: Let's hear some updates!
Welcome to the club. The "not yet entered into the system" club is getting larger all the time. They told me Friday that the mid march applications are just now being entered. If your at 79 days, yours is getting closer.wrinkles wrote:79 days since they received my application 6 days after sending an email to get my status, I get this.
Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going though the processes required before entry. When a completed application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your PIN number.

Re: Let's hear some updates!
The one who posted above this post, for instance. Couple others who have posted in the past few days. Like I said earlier...I'm not even entered in the system yet.mondo2000 wrote:Who got their plastic before you? It seems they are taking at least 90 days for new applicants and 120 days for renewals.03Lightningrocks wrote:Does anyone here think it is possible they are sorting the applications by region or city? This might explain why it is taking some of us 120 days while others are getting plastic in 60. Being in the DFW area, I could believe they are getting more applications from here than they are from Austin or even a smaller area.
I sent an email yesterday telling them I was concerned after witnessing folks getting plastic before me that have submitted paperwork after me. i asked if they are processing apps. in the order they are received. Still no response from them. Maybe it is a hard question to answer. Seems easy enough...either yes or no would work.

Didn't call them and say it, but said it in an email. Yep...your right...my application hasn't seen daylight since.KC5AV wrote:Has anyone called them and told them that the LAW says 60 days? You're application might be pushed to the bottom of the pile, but it would be funny to hear the reaction.lunchbox wrote:thats just nutsrmoraes wrote: Just called DPS. All good, they said. They told me the time now is up to 120 days to get approved!

Re: Let's hear some updates!
Most of the responses I have gotten from email are scripted. My frustration comes from the fact that the applications do not appear to be getting processed in the order they are received. I am sitting at more than 60 days and have not even been entered in the system while I watch folks who put applications in after I did receiving plastic. Something is seriously off down there that goes way beyond number of applications received. I truly believe they are using the applications received as nothing more than an excuse for a generally broken system. The finger should be pointing at the person in charge down there. Blaming politicians only serves to excuse a lack of job performance of the department handling our applications. The solution is in bringing in management personal that can organize and task manage properly.

grapeno1 wrote:Emailed DPS for status of application this morning, Just received email back saying. "Your application will be mailed in the next 3-4 weeks."
That will make it about 70 to 80 days from start date.

That reply does not seem to match your circumstances. According to your signature, you already received your application and mailed it back to them. Why would they need to mail it again? I bet they are looking at the same page we are when we send an email inquiry. Those folks have not a clue as to what is going on down there.

Re: Let's hear some updates!
In an email correspondence I received from the State, I was informed that the status page is not indicative of the actual status of my application. Specifically, in my case, the fact that I did not have a pin does not mean they aren't working on my application. In other cases I have read here on this forum, folks go from mailed packet to approved in a few day period. I doubt that they are updating that status page(for all applications) on a regular basis.

If you were old enough to remember the song, I'd hearken back to Gale Garnett's "We'll Sing In The Sunshine".

Re: Let's hear some updates!
I am at about 60 days since they received my application and still not entered in system. They are getting further behind with each passing week. At this rate it will soon be a year long process.
The problem with "gubament" workers is that once they have an excuse to shirk, they will milk it for all its worth.

Re: Let's hear some updates!
It could be worse. They could be telling you they haven't entered you in the system yet.... . It makes me wonder if they have lost my stuff under the Krispy Kreme boxes.
