Re: Competitive shooting
Check out Dallas Action Pistol Shooters. They hold many matches at Elm Fork IDPA, USPSA and others. It's really easy to join, yearly dues are only $20 and for IDPA its a $12 fee to the range and a $7 fee to the club. FIrst match can be shot for $3

Re: Are you required to inform you're CCW?
On a side note if you told a security guard or anybody with control over the premises that you are "yes" you have a firearm they could ask you to leave and if you didn't you are breaking the law. That would go under verbal 30.06. Doesn't matter if you tell him yes or no. If a security off...

Re: Gun Case Pried Open AA Flight DFW to East Coast
I would suggest an aluminum or steel case if at all possible. The plastic cases are too easy to break into. My partner said his brother had his brand new XDm stolen when flying from DFW back to the Peoples Republik of Commiefornia. They simply used a knife or a box cutter and cut a hole in the top o...

Re: 911, dallas county.....pls HOLD!
I'm not sure where you are from but Dallas is in the middle of a huge budget deficit in which the city council is in the process of deciding whether or not to fill over 120 slots opening up in the police department due to retirement and competing agencies. I listen to DPD's dispatch every night and ...

Re: 911, dallas county.....pls HOLD!
I have called 911 before and got "911 can you please hold" then put on hold. NO if I am calling 911 I cannot hold!! So if you call 911 then you should be able to bump another 911 caller off the line? What do you think that 911 dispatchers grow on trees. There are only twenty something dis...

Shot my first IDPA match last wednesday
Oh man where to begin. I shot my first IDPA match with the Dallas Action Pistol Shooters at Elm Fork Shooting Range in Dallas. This is the nicest, most professional group of people I've ever had the privilege of shooting with. They were very intent on everyone adhering to the safety rules and regula...

They're probably running STEP again for awhile due to all the traffic going to the lakes and vacationers on the roadways. Helps keep accidents down and traffic running smoothly
