I don't have one, but it's my understanding that jobs are kinda' hard to come by these days...and nights. OTOH, I've never spoken with anyone who said that bein' dead was all that satisfyin' either.

In Texas, you can be fired for:Shu wrote:My company owns the log, but it does not say anywhere in the handbook about the parking lot. Just the buildings. I am pretty sure I am safe, but you know Texas is a fire-at will state.
* having a gun,
* not having a gun, and;
* anything else.
There's a pretty good chance that no one will see you monkeying around in your trunk a couple of times each day and report suspicious behavior to someone who tells someone else who calls the police and reports that there is a guy with a GUN in the parking lot.
You can always get another job; however, you can only be shot a few times.

...technically correct, eh?Keith B wrote:That is your choice as to carry or not on company property. And while the statement you made is technically correct, you CAN be arrested, but it would be a false arrest. Legally it is not prosecutable unless the manual is in the form of 30.06 or you have been told in person orally.Teamless wrote:Maybe so, but I would not want to be the test case, for either side, firing or arrested.Keith B wrote:RPBrown is correct.
Jobs are hard enough to get, good jobs are very hard to get
This false arrest could end up costing a lot of money and since you've already been fired, how are you planning on paying your attorney to get the arrest expunged (is that the right word)?

Re: Keeping a Weapon in my car at work.
What's not to understand about the employer's rules? Employees have been given notice that no guns are allowed.
