Re: Weapon recommendations in my price range

Picked up my XD today. :woohoo
Funny how once I had it with me, even though it was in the case, it seemed like there were a higher than normal number
of cops around on the way home. Got it home and of course had to check it out. Man it feels good in my hands.
:thumbs2:
Can't wait to shoot it this next weekend.

I think I'll probably color in the etchings first and then order some new sights.
Has anyone used the sights from http://www.suresight.com before?

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Weapon recommendations in my price range

Checked the website this morning and it's in the shipping state. :anamatedbanana

I'll probably have it early this coming week but I can't wait much longer.

What can I do to pass the time until then?

Re: Weapon recommendations in my price range

UPDATE:

I have ordered a XD compact 45 , 4 in. barrel , 10 +1 & 13 +1 clips, in the Dark Earth. Budsgunshop had them for $499 delivered and I'll pay $20 to my FFL for the transfer.

Re: Weapon recommendations in my price range

All is well, I contacted Randy @ West Texas Military Surplus and he said that he could do the transfer for $20, which I thought was pretty good. Then, I contacted Bud's and got them to change my FFL and that was not a problem either. :woohoo
Chalk it up to first purchase, now I know the process for next time.

Now I just have to sit and wait for my XD 45 to come in.

Need to find me a IWB holster now..

Re: Weapon recommendations in my price range

First purchase probably should have spoke to them before placing order, just figured since it's a national chain that I wouldn't have a problem.
Maybe I can change the FFL it ships to before it ships out if needed. I'll call Gander Mtn in the morning.

Springfield XD 40 S&W 4" is the same price : http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/prod ... s_id/30988
Alright, guys. I'm so excited. Thanks to Jason for pointing me to Bud's, I have ordered my first handgun ( http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/prod ... s_id/41838 )
and I got it for about $75 less than at Academy. I am having it delivered to the Gander Mountain here in Lubbock. Does anyone know what they charge for the transfer fee?

Thanks again,

Kevin

When I looked at Academy yesterday in Lubbock, they had the 4 in. XD 45 for $560.

Weapon recommendations in my price range

Ok, I was looking at the SA XD45 compact as my first weapon but think that may be a little to pricey for the wife's liking for first weapon.
What would you guys recommend in either a 9mm or .40 S&W below $400? I like all of the safety features the XD has and also the capacity.
Do you think I could find one maybe at a pawn shop for $400 or less? If not, bring on your input.

Thanks,
Kevin
