Re: Wives, friends, peers must be familiar w/ your guns.
I read the same article. Good advise, and some scenarios to back it up as well. I think the magazine was 'Weapons of Law Enforcement' or something like that.

Re: Best 1911
+1 on STI - - - You can't go wrong with a Springfield or Colt eiher. Personally, I'd avoid the "K" word I've seen too many of the series II choke to be comfortable with one. You mean Kimber? I have had my USII for a long time, and never had any problems with it that werent caused by me, I...

Re: Still having problems with Dads WASR pics added.
Update: Headspace does seem real loose on the jammer when compared to mine. I called Centurys 'customer service' and talked to a guy that really didnt sound like he knew much about the rifles. I sent the same pictures I posted here to him via email, and he could only say that it appears the lug may ...

Re: Still having problems with Dads WASR
I must be getting old, or maybe its my poor camera skills, but I see a few other things different looking at the screen. For instance, I never noticed the trigger springs were on the opposite sides.

Re: Still having problems with Dads WASR
This is my dads WASR. Note the lug has either broken off, or was cut short at the factory. Like I said this is the only visible difference between the two rifles. I have no idea if this is the problem or not, or if it is the problem, if it can be fixed by a good gunsmith. Also note that the chamber ...

Here is mine. It has no problems whatsoever. The matchstick points to the lug that is not there on my dads.

Re: Any suggestions for a daily carry???
The easy part is caliber. Get something that starts with a '4'. Be it a .40 or .45, you will be far better off than a .380 or a 9mm. That said, if recoil is an issue, go with something smaller, but as big as tolerable. If your looking for a wheel gun, cant beat the good old .357. Again if recoil is ...

Re: Teenagers First Gun
Some of you might find this as hard as I do to believe, but both my daughter and my niece were in the Army, and they dont have any handgun training in basic anymore. My niece had to wait till AIT to get her quals with the M9 and that was only because her MOS was MP. My daughter didnt get any trainin...

Re: Ammo Shortage Over????
I dont know if its over, or folks are just 'stocked up', but I have noticed that some calibers are getting easier to find. I see plenty of .45 and .223 on the shelves, and the price has come down just a bit. Some calibers like .380 are still AWOL. I cant figure that one out. Sure, .380s are great co...

Still having problems with Dads WASR pics added.
:headscratch Does anyone have a good contact at Century Arms? I tried emailing them through their website, but the emails came back. Forgot to try calling them today. Well Dad and I went on a little outing to PSC Friday to sight in a couple deer rifles, and just have a bit of fun throwing some lead ...

Re: Problem AK
:grumble I hate getting old. I just noticed that all this time I have been saying the front sight is canted. I guess my mind is confusing my AK with my AR, because I meant to say the gas tube is canted. Thats why it appears as though the gas hole in the barrel doesnt appear to line up correctly with...
