Other states don't have OCT, OCTC...
I really don't understand the hate for OCT. I've also seen people saying OCT wasn't responsible for getting open carry passed. Seems like they were to me. Seems the media thinks so too, seeing as how they keep interviewing CJ Grisham and asking him about it. :txflag:
What can we help you understand about OCT?

Would you like to hear how they showed up to one legislator's office and harass him and refuse to leave when requested? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbfxRQRQOTY

How about how they showed up to a restaurant with long guns, and a manager told them that they would need to disarm and created a scene? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og81rso_fNU

How about Kory Watkins with OCTC videoing cops and getting in their way, arguing, making inane statements, and yelling at them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8KLdMfwtqY

or him calling anyone who voted against OC a traitor, and saying that the penalty for being a traitor is death. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMgkqYe7b64

These are only a few examples of why those of us who are regular, everyday gun owners, are not a big fan of them or their tactics.

The media thinks that OCT helped pass it because OCT thinks that they helped pass it, and the reason you keep seeing CJ on TV is that he is a freak show and an attention whore. I don't know if you are aware of this yet or not, but the media don't like to put normal and boring people on the screen... they want to put stuff on tv that grabs attention and gets ratings, CJ meets that criteria, that's why you see him.

When the crime statistics go down, when a LTC holder is a hero, when the OCT AR/AK wielders go away... things will get better.

No that new Star Wars movie - that I regret... I should have just thrown $11.50 in the toilet. :anamatedbanana
I don't think those signs will come down. It takes effort to put them up, there is no driving factor to take them down. For someone that had the concern and went through the trouble to put them up, I don't think they are going to become "enlightened" and go through the effort to take them down. The small % of business they might lose because of the sign is probably insignificant, likely a much smaller percentage than LTC as a % of population.

I hope I'm wrong. The key will be how unobtrusive we can be and get past this initial wave so that it all dies down and people just forget about it. My concern is continued in your face tactics that just keep the issue front and center and more businesses put up signs.
They have to clean those windows sometime, signs fade over the years, and so on.

Re: I now regret that OC passed

Many of us knew that this was going to happen. The publicity was huge, and with the OCT, and more so the OCTC folks acting a fool, it has become an issue.

I heard some of the old timers talking about 30.06 signs in 1997 when that became the law and how at first they were everywhere, but they slowly came down.

We all knew that lots of 30.07 signs were going to go up. And if you didn't, then I don't know what to tell you.

Carry everywhere you can, OC as much as is advisable, and when you do OC, be a good representative of the other 900,000 of us in the state.

There will be an adjustment period and we just have to roll with it. It doesn't help that we are being vilified by a small, but insanely vocal group full of glittering jewels of colossal ignorance. But even those Priestesses of Baal will be shamed into silence when months go by without blood in the streets, women cowering in fear while angry white men use their open carried pistols to intimidate them, or any of the other drivel that they have said.
