Re: Drivers license different address
After 4 years of college and 3 address changes, I still have my dad's address on my license. Aside from the 141 day wait, my plastic arrived a few days ago without a hitch.

...and finally on day 135... "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"
Maybe I should go ahead and submit my renewal application now so it will arrive on time.

Re: May Applications
It's good to see more celebratory posts than complaint posts; it gives me a wee bit of hope. I really wish we could figure out some sort of pattern to these delays. I've lived in only dallas and tarrant county for 22yrs. I have absolutely no criminal records, tax problems, past due student loans, et...

Re: May Applications
CHL Log - Day 86: Mailbox is still barren; holster is gathering dust. Morale is at an all time low... and hope for making it out of the Waiting Room before day 90 is all but lost.
Any time-frame estimates from others in Tarrant/Dallas county?

Re: May Applications
Yes. Try again and this time make sure you are not selecting the option for CHL Instructor. No personal experience here, just seen this question asked and answered many times. Thanks Mike. I don't know how I missed that with as many times as I looked up my status yesterday. :headscratch After click...

Re: May Applications
I decided to check my status for the first time in a month or so. Last time I checked, it said "Processing Application". Today, however, when I went to the website I got: :headscratch "No application or license/certificate active." :headscratch I checked from different browsers o...

Re: Gun Retention
By similar reasoning, we should have a literacy test in order to vote. :iagree: Any sort of competency tests would be a vast improvement... like knowing how to work the voting machines, or the names of the candidates. But to keep it on topic; It would be nice to have some gun retention / hand...

Re: School shooter shot by armed student
see if we had a legal way to carry at our schools and collages we might have the same outcome for the shootings we have had over the past years That's why I would like to see addressed in the near future, if you have a CHL you should be able to carry anywhere in the state. :iagree: As a college stu...

Re: pro gun political question
None of the three Democrats (Clinton, McCain, Obama) are pro gun. I see what you did there. "rlol" Obama's home state (IL) not only denies the right to carry concealed, but has some horrible restrictions on even obtaining a firearm or ammo. Illinois Firearms FAQ: http://www.isp.state.il.u...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
I am a Theatrical Carpenter (building sets for plays, among other things) and was given this nickname by one of my co-workers in the scene shop my freshman year of college. I've been lurking around the forum for a few months now, just getting around to posting some things. I really appreciate the wi...

Small gun for lefties
I am incredibly left handed. I currently have a Ruger P95, which has ambidextrous safety and mag release that work fairly well for me. I've been looking for a sub-compact gun that feels comfortable and has an ambidextrous (or lefty friendly) mag release. A lot of the small guns I've held either have...

State papers before or during class?
I was wondering which method of applying for your CHL you guys prefer... getting the state paperwork done ahead of time at the DPS website or doing it all when you take the course? I'm a fan of the ease of doing such things online, but on the other hand it would be nice to have someone who can help ...
