Re: TAM In The Hospital
I never did like my heat turned all the way up to "ludicrous", simply because I want to enjoy the other flavors too. (There ARE other flavors besides hot! ) But, I did like to eat poppers, and was no stranger to fiery salsas. I’m already in mourning.
Thanks C-dub. My H&H did take a beating. They did draw a type and cross match, but never hung any blood on my IV. I am as weak as a kitten still, and I really need to build my strength back up. But I can tell that this is going to be a process and take a while, so I’m having to learn patience.C-dub wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 10:42 pm Well, late to the party as usual.
I haven't been on the forum for a little while and missed this whole episode. I'm very glad, my friend, that you were in and out so quickly. If you lost that much blood, you're hemoglobin must have taken a real shot. Don't rush your recovery. It might take several months to reproduce those lost red cells to make up the loss and get your hemoglobin and hematocrit back around around where they were.
Praying for a good recovery!

Re: TAM In The Hospital
Going home! I’ve just gotten the official discharge notice from the doctor, had the IV line pulled out, and packed my stuff. Waiting for the final paperwork to sign, and for a nurse with a wheelchair.

Re: TAM In The Hospital
Well, it looks like I’ll probably be going home tomorrow. I really ducked a bullet. My surgeon told me today that I had lost 4 units of blood by the time he did the procedure. I’m glad to be on the mend, and grateful for the opportunity to live with intention going forward.

Re: TAM In The Hospital
WHEW!
Found and clipped an ulcer. Discovered an unknown hiatal hernia. Have not slept for more than an hour or two straight since waking up Thursday morning, and I’m exhausted. Gonna try to sleep now.

Re: TAM In The Hospital
Thank you everybody. Please forgive if I don’t answer all questions, but don’t have much time.
It started on Monday with having BOTH Flu type A, and a UTI.
Taken by paramedics to ER with weakness, etc, yesterday eve.
Admitted last night, severe dehydration.
Taken to my room, where I begin almost immediately passing LARGE amounts of blood every hour or so.
All night long, all day long, right up to right now.
DX: bleeding ulcers.
They were going to do an exploratory endoscopy on me tomorrow morning, but my hemoglobin levels have been falling sort of fast all day, so I’m going into surgery later tonight.
End report. See you all on the other side.
PS: now you know why I didn’t want or have time for visitors. Maybe when I’m on the mend.
