One of the all time great political slogans: Edwin Edwards when an opponent running against him for Governor was slamming him for all his shady deals had bumper stickers put out that said "I'd rather be corrupt than inept" --he won handily. In 1983 running for reelection in 84, he stated " the only way I can lose this election is to get caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy"--he won again. Louisiana has a history of "colorful" politicos.
