It's fairly serious. Some of the writing style has a certain dark humor or sarcasm to it, but it is definitely serious about going galt. It is a "how to" book, and a justification for why one should. Going Galt has a lot of attraction, given our choices this election year. The question is one of practicality for those of us who aren't already millionaires.
Another book like it which I'm also reading is "Starving the Monkeys: Fight Back Smarter".
