So does that mean that when I open carried last December while hunting on my friend's deer lease up in Jack County (a long hike in from the nearest road), I was breaking the law? (Not that I care one whit or wouldn't do it again...) Or are you saying that your family members are unsympathetic to OC on their land? Just seeking clarification.NcongruNt wrote:But not at my father's house, my brother's ranch, or any other location that I myself do not own.drw wrote:It's already perfectly legal to OC on your privately owned property.NcongruNt wrote:The places I would OC were it made legal would generally be places like family property and land.

Nice to see that you're surfing TexasCHLForum while in Starbucks. Now, to complete the image, you just need to bail on PCs and buy a Mac.cbr600 wrote:I would probably go with something in basic black, like this:

Re: Open Carry Gun
I would probably continue to carry concealed most of the time anyway, and I would probably continue to use the pretty good IWB holsters I've already purchased. That being said, I might also be tempted buy a nice OWB each for my Kimber and my USPc for those occasions when I felt comfortable with open carry. For the 1911 OWB, I would consider a belt slide type in case I wanted to carry different sizes of 1911s. But even with an OWB holster, I probably wouldn't carry right out in the open most of the time, and I wouldn't bother getting an OWB for my 642 or P3AT, since I bought them both expressly for pocket carry. What open carry means for me is simply that I would be under less legal burden to be extremely fastidious about concealment. So I would still cover up, but if something peeked out from under the edge of my shirt, I wouldn't be as concerned about it - if that makes any kind of sense.
