Re: Austin based Yeti quits doing business with NRA
I'm not throwing my yeti stuff away either... (my big cooler was a gift from my late father in law) a simple decal of the NRA or a competitor will cover the yeti name when they goes into public again. And I may get ambitious and sand the name off the top where it has raised letters... call it prep for the new decal.

Re: Austin based Yeti quits doing business with NRA
I'd say the ball is STILL in yeti's court. On Tuesday, Hammer emailed Breitbart News a response to the Yeti statement. The statement said:
YETI severed ties with the NRA and is now engaging in damage control after a backlash from many of its customers. In early March, YETI refused to place a previously negotiated order from NRA-ILA, citing “recent events” as the reason – a clear reference to the tragedy in Parkland, Florida. YETI then delivered notice to the NRA Foundation that it was terminating a 7-year agreement and demanded that the NRA remove the YETI name and logo from all NRA digital assets, as well as refrain from using any YETI trademarks in future print material. While YETI is trying to spin the story otherwise, those are the facts. While Yeti can choose to run from the NRA, they can’t run from the facts.
Hammer concluded her statement by noting, “Whether this is due to the recent cancellation of the IPO from their New York City owners is a question only they can answer.”

And the problem now is that they have waited so long (3-4 days) that many of us (me included) will doubt the authenticity of the corroborator.rtschl wrote:Yep, got my canned response too.
What I would like is proof of who these other organizations were that were also notified.YETI needs to name names before I will believe them.
I sure wish Charles would/ could weigh in on this one!

You'll get the same canned response that we all got!stever1950 wrote:MMM BOY! Talk about stepping in a ditch full of cow poo and falling on a hornets nest!
I'm not too good at this, but I sent the following email to Yeti:
"Due to your refusing sales to the NRA I will no longer purchase any of your products and I will encourage any and all not to either. You have not only lost the business of Corporate NRA but the business of millions of sportsmen who are members. You forget, we are the NRA."
I can hardly wait to see what/if they reply.

I got the same message...
I'm surprised that it took them all day to come up with that- I could have made up something better in about 30 minutes.

Re: Austin based Yeti quits doing business with NRA
I wonder how many thousands of "contact us" emails were waiting in their in box this morning!
When yeti began, there entire customer base were gun owners... now they are hip- I hope they choke (financially speaking) on that arrogance.

Re: Austin based Yeti quits doing business with NRA
my note to them...
As a long time customer and owner of over a dozen yeti products, I was stunned to learn of the decision to cut ties with the NRA. Not only will I not purchase any more yeti products, I will to go out of my way to steer friends and family to the other brands that have closed the gap in recent years. Any yeti product I must use before it is replaced, will have a competitors decal placed over the yeti name.
I'm a Texan, fisherman, hunter, camper, comp BBQ cook... and no longer a customer. Although NRA members may not be your biggest market anymore (as you've gotten hip&trendy) remember who brought you to the dance. You have truly bitten the hand that feeds you.
I realize Austin has become the Berkeley of Texas, but I don't see a great market for your coolers to keep weed and granola at temp.

Re: Austin based Yeti quits doing business with NRA
Anyone have direct contact info for executives at Yeti??
I think we need to really jump on this one... it's a local business and one that caters to our friends and markets of interest.
If they drop the NRA then we need to hit them in force with email and letters and or calls letting them know that we will support other brands.
