Of course, he's wrong. It actually takes significant gunsmithing talent to turn a semi AR-15 into a full auto. For example the semi AR-15 variants would require replacement of the bolt carrier, hammer, disconnector, and sear at a minimum and the lower receivers are drilled to make this very difficult without machining and so are the uppers. It's also highly illegal unless you are a licensed manufacturer. Reportedly ATF spends a lot of time trying to bust people doing this. Like another poster said, Tactical shouldn't have gone there, but having done it they should be called out as being full of it by some real Title II dealers/manufacturers.howdy wrote:A few comments and questions:
PM said the Navy sniper was killed in a shooting range "very similar to this range" That was completely false.
PM said the Aurora shooter used a slide fire stock. This is the first I heard of this. Is it true?
The owner of Tactical Firearms said anybody could buy the necessary parts to turn an AR-15 into a fully automatic weapon. Can you do this and would it be legal? He made it sound like it would be a easy thing to do. He also made it sound like an ordinary person could just go to his shop and buy a class 3 weapon. He did a poor job (or it was edited) explaining the difficulty, waiting time, cost, etc. of obtaining one of these things. When asked aboout the home defense weapon, he said he would use a shotgun. He fell right into PM's trap on that. A good reply would be to ask "what is the threat".
