Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
Thursday, May 9th, I called DPS first thing in the morning and told them that my 8 business weeks date for waiting on my LTC would be May 12th and that 60 days is May 17th. The representative apologized for the delay and said he would look further into my application and see if he could do anything to expedite the process. The next morning, May 10th, my background check status went from pending to completed. Does anyone recall how long the print pending takes?

Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
I couldn’t agree more. All of my documents were in on March 17th. 8 business weeks will be May 12th, or 60 days (May 17th). If I don’t have my license by May 17th I’m filing a formal complaint and requesting my $40 back. If they can’t hold on to their end of the bargain than why should I as a lawful, paying consumer? If you’re truly this swamped then hire more workers. I still can’t get over the fact that my US Passport (paid for and documents sent at the same time) was processed and shipped WEEKS AGO...ThreeEighty wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 3:14 pm I fingerprinted + sent all of my paperwork this past Monday (4/29). I received a confirmation email that all of my items had been received on Monday afternoon. My status tracker appeared online Wednesday morning (5/1), and everything is green except for “print pending” this morning (5/4). After reading some posts on here, especially from those like me who have no criminal background, I’m beginning to think DPS picks at random who is going to get their apps processed in a timely manner and who is going to have to wait the full 60 days.

Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
Yes. Best time to call is soon as they open. Often they’ll pick up right away, but don’t expect much useful information.jaimeandrade wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 6:54 pm Tried calling dps twice today. Both times was on hold for over 10 mintues so just hung up. Is that normal?

Not sure what miracle was worked for you. I haven’t heard or read of anyone else having similar results.

Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
It doesn’t seem like they really care about taking care of business in a timely fashion. Once they’ve processed your payment they can careless how long you wait! We’re trying to carry a gun legally and do the right thing. They shouldn’t be dragging their feet, or if they’re really swamped with applications then maybe they need to hire more people.balsobrook wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 12:59 am Completed EVERYTHING and submitted 2/27/2019. . This is what I have had since that DATE. Even tried emailing my state rep. He responded to me about a COMPLETELY different issue.

I have this exact same screen shot. Only difference is that my fingerprints say “received.” And it’s been this way for a month now... Deep sigh!

Re: 2019 New LTC Processing Timeline...
I’m new here and have been trying to get info on the LTC process.
6-17-18: I completed the online application and paid the fee of $42.95
3-5-19: I had my photo taken and fingerprints done with IdentoGO
3-17-19: Received my LTC-100 Training Certificate and uploaded it to the TXDPS (Regulatory Services Division)
4-18-19 The website still states:
“Background check: Under Review” and “Print pending completion of application review.”
I’ve contacted the office in Austin 2x; once via email and another time over the phone.
The email reply stated that all materials were submitted on 3-17-19 and that my 60 day waiting period starts from that point. When I called yesterday, 4-17-19, I was told that no one touched my file/application until 3-27-19 (10 days later!) and that my 60 day wait actually starts that day. Does that seem fair/correct? Why does it take them so long to process an application??? I applied for a renewal US Passport around the same time and had it in hand in less than three weeks!
I’m a RN and I have background checks completed for work/new employment all of the time. It usually takes a couple of days at most. I have no criminal background (no felonies, no misdemeanors, not even traffic violations). I really don’t know why this process seems to be taking forever, and when I contact the office for info/any updates they tell me absolutely nothing. They act like I’m being impatient or dumb for asking what’s going on... Anyway, I’m frustrated and can’t wait to have the license that I paid for. I feel like if they waited to process the payment until the time that they’re actually going to print/issue the card that they’d be a bit more efficient and speedy in completing the background check.
