Do they have offices other than those used by the courts? If so, they can’t ban the whole building, just the courtroom and court offices. However, courthouses are a prohibited location. If the property is still owned by the city, the civil penalties wouldn’t apply, but you probably would be exempt from criminal prosecution under 30.06 or 30.07, based on AG Ken Paxton’s opinion letter. See below:

Does anyone know what law they use to enforce this, or is it just common knowledge? I’ve heard the same thing, it’s just interesting that they aren’t required to post signs or anything of the sort.
