yeah everything works out now. they even added wider belt loops for my mag holster at no extra charge. and sent me various sizes of clips and loops. very very excellent customer service.Take Down Sicko wrote:Grundy1133 wrote:i actually commented the company and they sent me wider J hooks for my holsters for free.Take Down Sicko wrote:Ok... too late. AHHhh. That was very good. Better than any modification. Hope it all works out for you.

Re: Fat Guy Carry...
well NVM guys i solved my problem. took my dremel tool and ground the lip off to where it makes a 90 degree angle. it fits nicely now and still hooks on to where it won't come off.

Re: Fat Guy Carry...
Ok so I bought a gun belt from gunbelts.com i looked around and i saw this thicker belt that the description said I'd love it if I carried a full size (which I do) so I got it. now it's a 1.5" belt and the holster clip I have on my holster fits 1.5" belts. everything should work out right? WRONG. the belt is so thick (not wide, but THICK) that th elip of my holster clip will not fit around the belt... Any idea on how to bend the lip to a 90 degree angle or maybe a bit wider so i coul dmake it fit or will i just have to get a new holster?

Re: Fat Guy Carry...
I may buy one and give em a go. if i like em ill get more if not then its not really a big loss.flechero wrote:They are pretty long.... I'm 6'1" and down to 225lbs... I wear an xl or xxl shirt but only a large in these undershirts and they come to top/mid thigh when I "pull the wrinkles out." No hint of riding up or coming untucked. The fact that are nice and stretchy allows them to give when you move and keeps them from riding up. Well worth a try if you haven't found your Grail undershirtGrundy1133 wrote:i used to wear under armor tank tops when i was smaller. they hugged the body well and kept me extremely cool. but ive gotten bigger and cant fit into a lot of under armor anymore ill definitely check these out.flechero wrote:An undershirt tip for my brothers here....
Cool, comfy and inexpensive. Best of all they don't "stick" to your over shirts causing bunching.
https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men/airism ... irism-mesh
Available in a bunch of colors and styles
The link is the the mesh style, which allows air to move through and is cooler than almost any other undershirt I've tried (which is most of the available brands and styles) in the past 10 years.
ETA: they are pretty stretchy so shrinking hasn't been an issue at all.
EDIT: they don't have any in Talls... :( i need tall shirts otherwise they come untucked... being tall and big is a curse sometimes lol

I bought 2 packs of em. hope this helps anyone out there looking for some big and tall undershirts

Re: Fat Guy Carry...
I conceal a full size M&P .40 at 9 o'clock with IWB(as seen in my pic) and an extra 15 rd mag at 4 o'clock in an IWB mag holster. as a bigger guy are OWB holsters comfortable? my hybrid leather/kydex IWB holster is comfy, but its a pain to put on and take off on the fly (if i need to) and kydex IWB holsters stab the side of my gut (as pictured above lol) are OWB holsters easy to get on and off? and do you feel it as the day goes on? does it get uncomfortable or do you sometimes forget you have it on?LimaCharlie3 wrote:I like options. I prefer owb with an untucked shirt. When I can’t do that I carry a Berretta Pico in the front pocket. I can conceal a “big” gun iwb at 4 o’clock comfortably, as well. Sure I’m gonna feel it sometimes. In all cases I carry a spare mag in a horizontal knife case owb on the weak side. Keep in mind that in normal everyday passing, nobody will notice a print or bottom of holster peeking out.

Re: Fat Guy Carry...
on my weak side I carry an IWB single mag holster as well. With the kydex (in the pic) the gun jabs my side but as I mentioned with the leather hybrid style holsters the leather cushions the jabbing lol. but im torn between comfort and ease of access. If I can find a kydex that doesnt stab my fat gut id definitely choose kydex over hybrid just for easy maneuverability

Re: Fat Guy Carry...
what kinda undershirts do you wear? all the shirts i find either come untucked, or are so heavy that they get way too hot.NNT wrote:I made an IWB hybrid like crossbreed for a Sccy cpx2. Re: Fat Guy Carry...
im 6'2" 300+ lbs and im a south paw and i carry at 9 o clock with a hybrid. the holster still digs into my love handle but the leather makes it a LOT less painful than kydex. right now i ahve just a thick leather belt that ive had for 10+ years an di constantly find myself pulling up my pants so i went to gunbelts.com andbought one of those steel core gun belts. if you prefer kydex (which i do because its so easy to just slide on and slide off when you need to) I'd probably carry at around 8 o clock... also check out the 300th parallel on youtube. i find appendix carry comfortable that way (and i have a pretty big gut haha.) but not for long periods of time.fwant wrote:As a fat guy, I was wondering if ther are any other "girthier" guys out there... I'm looking for recommoendations on holsters? And how you're carrying (3, 5 o'clock)? Am I going to have to get a special belt for a holster too? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Anthony
