Ah, my apologies. Must have been mixing it up with the church security exemption that just passed. This ones quite old.C-dub wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 7:32 pm This shoot only happened last year. Wasn't this immunity in place before that?

Re: TX:The mean streets of Houston- hero no billed by GJ.
I do not believe this statute was in effect at the time this incident occurred. Thats actually a good lawyer question, does an exemption like this count from when a no-bill or grand jury decision is decided, or only on incidents from the effective date forward? Its a weird timing thing for sure.RottenApple wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 7:49 amUnless I'm miss-reading this, I don't think he will be.Grayling813 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 1:27 pmWow, I was sure that he was going to be indicted. Good decision. Unfortunately he is still subject to wrongful death suit by the dead robber’s family.
Sec. 83.001. Civil Immunity.
A defendant who uses force or deadly force that is justified under Chapter 9, Penal Code, is immune from civil liability for personal injury or death that results from the defendant’s use of force or deadly force, as applicable.
Also, I'm pleasantly surprised he was no billed. Either in the thread I stated I thought he would be found guilty of **SOMETHING** for that last shot at least, but this is surprising considering the DA and location.
His actions don't meet up with the standards of professional decorum for those who are paid to carry in some form, but its good to know criminally that once Chapter 9 is hit, we're pretty much covered to end the threat. Obviously the grand jury was convinced that he did not believe the threat was ended.

Also missing the mag, and buffer tube assembly. Most likely a non-working firearm or airsoft gun.striker55 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 12:36 pmSaw that video, stupid guy with AR had his finger on the trigger while climbing through the window on the way out.philip964 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 9:32 am

Women sexually assaulted during robbery. Interesting security video seems to show the BG's with a shot gun and some kind of cut off AR rifle (really small magazine?) which he seems to put his hand in front of the muzzle at one point. Robbers are going for big firepower to counteract folks who have handguns.
