Tomorrow will be 44 days since mine made it to background pending, I too have a 100% clean record. It simply makes no sense that so many others are getting in 12-20 days while I am given no reason why mine won't go through. To say the least I feel your pain.

I too am being told to be patient, mine went into review 1-2-18 and has been stuck on background and print pending ever since.

Not that I am an expert , but you may need to call them and ask, it seems thats what it will do if you need to resubmit fingerprints.

My friend is also not an American citizen , and has moved at least 3 times. I have been in same place for over 10 years. It's a crazy system for sure.
