My wife makes the point that, at some point you HAVE to trust people. You will trust a teacher with the sheltering, feeding and training of your child but won't trust them with their protection (except as fodder)? If they are trustworthy enough to care for a child, they are trustworthy enough to train and arm.

The same with LEO's, if they are trustworthy enough to carry a firearm almost everywhere (secured areas of jails excepted), then why are they not trustworthy enough to carry when they fly. 9-11 may not have happened, or at least been greatly mitigated if the LEO's on board had been allowed to carry.

If a parent is trustworthy enough to have passed a background check, trained and be licensed to carry a firearm, then there is no place that they shouldn't be able to protect their loved ones.

I know, I know....preaching to the choir here.
