Man I choke on my own spittle when I think about that. Sadly, I must agree.

Yup. Actually attended a Dale Carnegie seminar 30 odd years ago, I forget who the speaker was. Didn't take away very much from it but I'm guessing that was your point.

I feel differently; there's a very definite, implied threat in those words. If I were on Obama's detail, I wouldn't be laughing at this.

What the Secret Service analysts would have to determine is whether it's a credible threat or just grandstanding - and they could drag such an investigation on for years. Don't tug on the tiger's tail to show off and claim shock if it bites back.
It seemed to me, from what I've seen and read he was conveying a doomsday scenario that, because of what Napolitano has said she considers terror threats, would see him dead or in jail if Obama was re-elected. Paranoid? Maybe. It still doesn't change my disappointment with the tendency of some of us in the RKBA community to pull back from others because they draw some unpopular attention. Ted Nugent isn't the first.

Re: Uncle Ted being investigated by Secret service

Good grief. Like him or not, there is nothing in those comments that should be construed as a threat. I am sure he is worried that if the current administration remains in place he will be in jail or dead. This very forum is frought with citations of an ever more totalitarian government that marks most of its members as potential terror threats.

As to the allegorical political rhetoric, do I need to cite the thousands of examples of bloodier imagery in politics over the last couple hundred years? How quick we are to pull back from someone when they draw a little unwanted attention. I wonder what would happen if the state did come after us, would we throw them some sacrificial lambs and pray they left us alone or would we stand as the forefathers we claim to admire?
