I second handgunlaw.us...great site. Research each state (I download their penal codes, etc.) and ask if you have to. For instance, FL law on carry where alcohol is served is vague where it comes into a restaurants. I frequent there and called the state police and was directed to the sheriff's office in Escambia county where I was going (they apparantly issue CHL's..I dunno). He said that bars in restaurants are remarked and or divided from the main floor. He told me to stay out of those areas and that I would not be in violation.

Sure enough, Flounders, has two bars both on elevated floor areas. The restaurant where we celebrated my daughter's birthday 3 years ago had the bar sectioned off and white lines showing a "lane" to the restrooms. Just do your due diligence and carry away (where legal).
