With a few exceptions, the level of knowledge amongst the Dallas Security folks is limited. There are a few I know that have a much better level of understanding but they are the minority. There are no court offices in the building and the city removed all of their weird language "no concealed carry signs" when the law changed.chabouk wrote:Here's the real truth:MedicMan218 wrote:But in the mean time does anyone know what the REAL truth is regarding Dallas City Hall?
1. It's government property.
2. It's not a school.
3. It's not a court (presumably; there might be some court offices somewhere in the building).
4. So, it's not on the list of prohibited places in PC 46.03; carry away.
Also, if a "meeting of a government entity" takes place (city council, various boards and authorities, etc.), they can post the meeting with a 30.06 notice. But, they can only post the meeting, not the building.
The cops by and large are cool with CCW but it is ill advised to ask anyone there if its "okay". There are also a couple of secured areas, needing a card or escort to get into...but those are obvious.
