It may be just as bad, but it's actually worse in the eyes of the original bad actor. He won't see it as just karma; he'll see it as a declaration of war from the alt-right. His "just left of center" views are getting threatened now, so he may go even further left and get even angrier. To me, this behaviour is as bad as the original action.
