Why would the NRA lie about them getting cut off by YETI. The NRA would have nothing to gain from doing something like that. Clearly YETI is backpedaling and trying to lie their way out of a bad decision.cyphertext wrote:That is why I would like to see the original correspondence. The burden of proof is squarely in the hands of YETI. If they are telling the truth they need to do the following:
* Show proof that they offered "an alternative customization program" prior to NRA-ILA statement
* Show proof that this notice (and alternative program) was made to other organizationsThe NRA could just as easily clear this up by providing the original correspondence as well.
- One of them is lying.
If the NRA is telling the truth, why did this announcement come out of the Florida group only, vs a national release?

Here is the letter from the NRA-ILA with the statement from Marion Hammer. It states YETI was not telling them why they were not selling to them, so he must have had correspondence with them. Now YETI is backing up and trying to weasel out of their initial boycott because of the backlash from NRA members. https://www.nraila.org/articles/2018042 ... foundationcyphertext wrote:Mr. Cotton, can you elaborate on Yeti "lying"? Chas.
Right now we have both sides claiming the other is "lying"... not sure who to believe anymore.

Re: Austin based Yeti quits doing business with NRA
Everyone thinks these YETI coolers are some great new innovation, when in reality they are not. When you look at any of the high-efficiency coolers (YETI, Orca, RTIC, etc) they are nothing more than extremely thick-walled coolers. I liken it to putting 2x6 vs 2x4 walls in your house. You add the extra 2" of insulation in the walls and they are gonna be better. The downside with the coolers is the size of the inside compartment for storage is compromised in return for the gain in insulation.
So, if you need your ice to last 3 days because you can't get out to get more, then yeah, it does what it is supposed to. Personally, for how I use a cooler, I would rather have more storage area or smaller exterior dimensions and replace the ice more often. I also do that for a LOT less money than buying one of these overpriced food lockers.
