You can carry in the state park as long as the land under your feet is not COE property. Not sure where the COE boundary for the lake and the state boundary for the park start and stop. I believe there are usually markers every so often along the boundary line showing the Corp property line.Superman wrote:I'm a little ignorant on the COE stuff (I'm still waiting on my plastic). I mountain bike a lot at Cedar Hill State Park. Joe Pool lake is listed on that website...does that mean I'm not legal to carry in that state park? I was going to look for a sign next time I go and ask them to be sure, but was just wondering what you guys say...tornado wrote:From the research I've done before, Inks Lake is not COE. I've carried there.
I just found this link -- can someone confirm that this is all the COE lakes in Texas, as it appears to be? http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visito ... m?state=TX" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thanks!

Re: Carry in a Texas State Park?
I would say since that is the COE website, then they have listed all of their lakes. Doubt they would miss any.tornado wrote:From the research I've done before, Inks Lake is not COE. I've carried there.

Re: Carry in a Texas State Park?
I personally wouldn't recomeend carrying if you are on a COE owned lake. If you are found carrying and charged, then you will end up with a federal conviction and potentially lose your CHL.markmac56 wrote:Thanks for the info..I hope Inks Lake is state owned....either way, I prolly carry anyway, critters and such being around, taking my 20-lb mutt....
