Many people believe steel case ammo is harder on the internal parts of the gun due to steel being harder than the softer brass. Additionally, there were reports of gumming of the chamber from lacquer or other coatings on the cases due to it melting in hot barrels and sticking to the chamber.jimandyen wrote:I've been tempted to buy the Monarch steel cases because of the price I seem to remember awhile backbnc wrote:Last time I went to buy ammo Academy was out of WWB so I went with Monarch steel case for $9.49/50. reading that it's not good to use the steel case a lot. Anyone know why.... ?
I personally have used steel case ammo and never seen an issue, but really haven't used a large amount of it over a long period of time to see any potential negative affects.
