And, I do understand how galling (for some) it would be for a non-LE type requesting to see your LTC.

I think your response is another thoughtful way of handling such a request.

Me, I'd just show it and move on, but I respect your perspective too.

I stand corrected.

What I posted came from a forum member who stated his nephew is a WM mgr. and his nephew stated they'd only be asking for an LTC is the OCer was not acting normal.

Now, I wonder if WM mgmt. has decided in all their stores to make the greeters automatically check for LTC if one OC's.

Given your experience, I guess one might or might not be asked for LTC if OCing.

It wouldn't bother me. I'd proudly whip it out.

I feel sympathy for the poor greeter having to do this as I suspect not everyone will be polite and kind about it and a whole lot of greeters are elderly and/or handicapped.

I thought the Walmart asking to see your LTC has been rendered rather moot as they will do so only if you're found to be acting suspiciously while OCing.

Act normal while OCing and you won't be asked to show your LTC.

On a side note: 92% of what Walmart sells is NOT Chinese made.

They sell tons of U.S. goods from automobile oil to Colt AR's and ammo.

Someone dreamed up that bogus percentage...

As to Walmart not producing a livable wage - They hire a lot of folks who couldn't/wouldn't be hired elsewhere, as in, handicapped and/or elderly door greeters and cashiers.

Yes, the pay is low and so are the responsibilities.

And no, I don't have stock in Walmart, just a satisfied customer.

By all means, act belligerent if an LTC is 'requested' at a business that has every right as it their business.

When you're shown the door, you'll have shown em how the cow ate the cabbage by gosh, ah, unless you went in there to buy cabbage, that is...

I'm assuming it's accurate.

I believe most here thought it was going to be the norm that ALL Walmart OCers would be asked for proof of LTC during their store stay.

Now it turns out only if the person OCing is acting squirrelly...quite a different kettle of fish...

It is required for something specific: Allowing you to stay in the store while OCing.

They aren't demanding to see the LTC, they're requesting and for sure, you don't 'have' to show them.

Then, without your cooperation they can politely show you the door.

While I wish they wouldn't, they have every right to ask to see your LTC as it's their store.
