Re: FLAG burning being challenged by Trump

He doesnt, he can Tweet whatever he wants. In my world, unlike the politicians world, a mans word is good and we try our best to do what we say we we are going to do. When he Tweets one should possibly have their citizenship revoked, thats just not reasonable to me. Kinda hard to take that serious. Thats all I meant. Sorry if it offended you.

Whoa, since you threw that out there, I dont know if you directed this from my recent posts, but I'll be very clear here.

I am certainly not a leftist.
I stated in earlier post I disagree with flag burning.
Trumps tweets do not offend me.
I do appreciate Trump's "frankness". And I really dont care what he Tweets. (I dont like saying that word either and will never have a Tweet account).

No need to convince me of Trump, I thank God every day he won and couldnt imagine the alternate candidate in there. I dont even like typing her name.

Re: FLAG burning being challenged by Trump

Not sure how you got all of that out of my last post as I agree with what you just said. I was trying to say just because he tweets his opinion doesnt mean he will act on it.

Look up the Flag Protection Act of 2005.
I do think he was just stating his opinion when he remarked about it and I doubt he will act on it. The problem is, when the (soon to be) President of the USA states his opinion, its reasonable to wonder if he will act on his opinions or just blow it off. I think he has a lot more critical issues to deal with and doubt he will spend the time to reverse the SCOTUS ruling on this matter.

He really needs to watch his tweets.

Re: FLAG burning being challenged by Trump

Oh Boy. I think its safe to say that the ruling handed down by our SCOTUS is "the end". Thats it. Period. Nowhere to go higher than that. Settled. But if there were others sitting in on the SCOTUS, maybe they would have decided the other way around? Was it full of liberals when that decision came down? Can a new case be heard and a different ruling come down?

I am with others that think burning is not a form of free speech. Its disrespectful and a slap in the faces of those who have, and are, putting their lives on the line for our freedoms. I wish it was illegal but we all know that will never happen. What would Trump do if that somehow becomes law? I would bet that would incite riots and more flag-burners than the jails could hold. And the next day, there would be even more. Then the threat of jail over flag burning would be hollow and will bite him in the rear. Its a shame in my opinion but what can ya do? Too bad they couldnt figure a way to issue citations for it and at least get some revenue from it. Just my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
