It also helps you on toll road bills!!!! Anyways...this pertains to firearms directly in that when do a "handshake deal" with someone you don't know they can really screw you. Let me tell you how. In many states it is the law that any weapon sold must have had an "example casing" pulled before sale. Connecticut and others do this. Glock does this voluntarily and many others do as well.

So you sell your handshake gun to Joe Smoe and he immediately goes and robs a bank (federal and state offense). He then shoots the teller and drops the gun on the floor and walks out.

Without the documentation of your sake you are going to get jacked up by the Feds until you show you are not the robber. The reason I am well-informed about all this ridiculous military crap that happens on base is because as a military retiree I am technically still fallen under Uniform code of military justice conceivably as a military retiree that goes on base I could technically be required to register my weapons however given the current political environment that we are not there yet but with Hillary is in charge it might just happen

Good question. Answer: whenever you lived or have ever lived on base you must fill out an on base weapons registration form. It is given to the base commander office and the base police.

Then in turn The weapons registration is entered into the
Internal base 911 system so that anytime you are on base or your car is on base they know if you are a private weapons owner. It is so that if the military police ever are called to your house they know ahead of time if you're likely to be armed.

Fast forward to 15 years later. You've not lived on base since 2002. But you get a new commander that orders all military personnel to register their weapons and store at base armory. They then pull the registration for ANYONE THAT HAS EVER HAD A WEAPON REGISTERED AT ANY MOMITARY BASE to see if you're on the list. If so. Bam!

This is the mindset of the Army. They are fifty shades of crazy!! (Pun intended)

And believe it or not the military commander CAN issue local orders and directives on base that the civilians and dependents also must follow. The base wing commander has LOTS AND LOTS of power when it comes to guns on base.

A good friend of mine is a San Antonio police officer and he is also the Security Forces commander at Randolph for the reserve units. He is a major and went to the academy with me. Good buddy of mine. When he goes on base for his duty weekend he gets stopped UN HIS SAPD PATROL VEHICLE at the gates and can't even leave his duty gear in his car at the base unit. He carries his weapon cause got an exemption letter from the wing commander. They take things way way way over the top.

The clarify. They can't make it "illegal" in requiring an NICS check along with civilian transfers, then can simply just refuse to do the transfer and that is exactly their policy.

You go online and find a gun you want at your local
Gun store. The gun store is off base. But the gun is in the ring caliber that you wanted. But AAFES has the gun in the right caliber. Since you live so far awa you decide to do an FFL transfer with your local gun shop with AAFES.

AAFES will refuse the transfer unless they know who is vying the gun and who bought said gun has an NICS check.
