That would be Lenin.

With all due respect, not a whole lot of difference between the two, as I recall.

Re: Obama and Communism

Smart dumb person...absolutely. Cool, then. Now if we're lucky, the Hillary supporters who threatened to vote for McCain if Obama got the nod will keep their word (unlikely, but possible), and we'll be okay for another 8 years, as the dems will self-destruct after this election and need time to get ...

Re: I was made by a total stranger - and it went OK

Actually, I've discovered that just moving the wallet to the opposite side of my rear end from my weapon works like a charm- no show and tell when I go to pay.

That being said, cargo pants have GOT to be proof that God loves CHL'ers and wants us to be happy.

Re: Obama and Communism

With all due respect, it is much more likely than an individual is successful and educated if they ARE smart. Barack Obama IS smart, which makes him dangerous. He knows how to pander to the most inexperienced and/or idealistic members of our society, and convince them that he is, in fact, going to i...

Strange day, but with a laugh at the end.

Mornin', everyone. Thought I'd share a story from the la-la land known as graduate school. It's amusing, and might just have a lesson in it somewhere. Note: The story appears to start toward a PG-13 or worse ending, but I promise, it was nothing like that- just keep reading. A few weeks ago, I took ...

Re: GOOOAL!

It's funny to look back at this and see how things have changed.

I now carry the G17 pretty much every time I'm not on campus.

Just something interesting.

Any other students waiting?

Re: Out of State

As a fellow "Texpat" and CHLer, I share the same concern (getting a master's at Pitt). My best advice is to switch to a PA permit rather than Texas. Not only will she still be able to carry back home, it's $36, as opposed to the significantly higher costs in Texas. No class, no muss, no fu...

Re: Concealment question

About carrying extra ammo; it's always a good idea to have at least one spare mag of defense rounds, but not for your stated purpose. If your gun FTFs in a defense situation, in all likelihood you're dead or otherwise incapacitated before you can fix it, certainly before you can load a fresh mag. T...

Concealment question

Hey everyone, Just a question that I couldn't get answered by searching the forum, so I thought I'd throw it out to the general public. I'm in the habit of carrying with 2 spare mags when I go out. My train of thought runs as follows: The most likely culprit of a FTF is a bad mag, so carrying extra ...

Re: Gunman used hunting skills at Omaha mall

You know, the funny thing about these eco-facists... They say controlled burns are bad, but won't take responsibility for wildfires. They say hunting is bad, but won't take responsibility for crops being destroyed by uncontrolled game. and my personal favorite.... They fly hundreds of hours a year i...

Finally, a thread where I can contribute something meaningful to the discussion! I'm going to Grad school in Pittsburgh, and have heard about this sort of thing, and discussed it with a few LEOs from my area- decent folks, warm right up when you show a little respect (I have a standing rule- I see a...

It's been awhile, glad to be back!

Hey everyone, Had a minor emergency a few weeks ago in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania- I'm here for school. Checked with the state AG's office to verify that a Texas permit was valid here, given my situation, got the green light, and shortly after I got home, a Water main burst up the street. I wandered d...

Got my plastic today. Overall time, 59 days. Within the requirement, but just barely. Looks like I'll be carrying the 1911 on my Wally Walk, with the PPK/s as a BUG. God, it's beautiful
