Re: Do you keep one in the "pipe?"

Always!
Unloaded weapons kill people all the time. I always treat mine as if they were loaded, because they are :).

Re: Weapon recommendations in my price range

I absolutely love the XD 40 which i 0wn and have put 600 - 700 rounds through so far. I would suggest that you buy a new gun as it will likely be your security piece for some time. Sometimes you can get a good buy on a used firearm, but be wary, and always have someone knowledgeable check out the we...

Re: love handles and concealed carry

Sometimes I carry the G26 inside pocket but strongly prefer the OWB or paddle type holster. The paddle type for my XD40 does seem to rest as 'NcongruNt ' says in his post for some reason. I always wear an un-tucked shirt or outerwear of some type and find that either carry piece fits more comfortabl...

Holster for Taurus 605

I am looking for a CC holster, preferably a paddle type for my wife's 357/38 (Taurus 605). She seems to like my paddle holster for my glock 26 and the same for my XD40. I have researched some brands and found a Fobus TA85 which seems to fit the Taurus model 85 and a couple of other models including ...

Re: Scary Thought

You're not alone. It is always better to be prepared for emergencies however small the likely-hood of such a thing happening. I have had the experience of living through an ice storm many years ago that left a city of 35K without power, cable, telephone or running water for two weeks and surrounding...

2A Supreme Court Review or Not?

After watching one of the few conservative personalities on TV last night I was introduced to the fact that, somehow, the supreme court may or may not decide to review the 'DC' gun control laws as per this link. http://www.rationalreview.com/2am/ To me the 2A is just plain old common sense, which mo...

neighborhood crime prevention programs and CHL

Here in Arlington Tx, we have a community program aimed at preventing and reporting crime that is set up by the Arlington PD. This program is called C.O.P. or Citizens On Patrol. The basic function of the program is that citizens that have enrolled in the program (with background check) do routine p...

New to CHL, Texas, and forum

Hi, my name is Alan and I live in Arlington. I have been in Texas for about 4 years now and I love living and working here. I am very happy to find a place that CHL folks can get together and exchange ideas and the sort. I just got my CHL 2 weeks ago, 5 weeks on the dot from my application date. My ...
