as of May 15th, same message on website: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required.

7 weeks seems like suffiecient time. What exactly is their process? Are they going around interviewing my preschool teachers?? Why in the world does it take SOOOOO long to process? Seeing as each person pays $140 you would think that would justify hiring enough people to complete the job in a timely matter. I guess the answer is they really don't want to give out licenses so, they take their sweet time and spend the money we sent in on some other government program.
