5/06- Called to check on status of application. Was told on 05/04 application was approved and sent to printing. Said it could take up to 14 days

Much faster than I was expecting, called RSD yesterday to confirm receipt of all necessary documents and the nice lady told me that it was going to print tomorrow (today, 4/29)....its even going to beat my stealthgear holster which was ordered the same day as I applied for LTC.

Was this your first time applying? I was all in 3/10 and was told today they haven't even look at my application.

I have never tried to contact RDS but I just got a email from them saying Due to a large increase in applications customer service reps are temporarily assisting in processing applications. At this time we are diligently working to process within statutory mandates. Not really sure why they sent me an "update".

I love reading this forum but this is my first post.

Application – 1/21
CHL Class – 1/16
Finger Prints – 2/1
CHL 100 Submitted – 3/09
Email Notification Received –3/10

When I login to the DPS website to check my status I get this: LICENSE APPLICATION STATUS: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required.

Is this normal? Is there anything else that I need to do or just wait? Thanks for your help!!!!
