I am more optimistic this session than I have been in previous sessions of a permitless carry bill passing both chambers and being signed into law.Vol Texan wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 12:22 am I’d love to see this, but I don’t see it happening this time around:
Would be great if 30.06 & 30.07 signs would only apply to unlicensed carry. Let oral notification apply to all, but remove the force of law that signs have against licensed carriers.
Maybe someday...

Re: If Const. Carry passes, a signage question
It would depend on which bill (if any) becomes law as to the mechanism to provide notice. I believe some of the bills allow 30.06/30.07 to apply to both LTCs and non-LTCs. Some bills (such as SB 540) would create a separate section under the penal code (30.08) that would apply specifically to non-LTCs, leaving 30.06/30.07 to apply to LTCs only.toddlinder wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 10:26 pm If constitutional carry were to pass it appears the current 30.06/30.07 would be changed from "licensed holder" to "person" which would mean the signs would apply to all persons who carry. Would there be a mechanism for private property holders to bar non-licensed holders but to allow licensed holders? (I do see another Const. Carry bill that would create a 30.08 sign for unlicensed persons but it seems like that bill is not the one moving forward at the moment).
