Kindy Friedman for Governor: Why the hell not?Renegade wrote:Who do you refer to when you use the term kinky?
The list is long. :D(note how I cleverly worded that and did not ask 'who is kinky?').

I thought he's all for guns, but I couldn't find any mention on his website.
One thing I don't like about Kinky: he decries that we're 48th in per-child spending on education. He wants us to move up. I want us to move to #50, with no chance for challengers, because we've abolished the whole system and separated school and state.

Governor and Lt. Governor are separate ballot items.one eyed fatman wrote:But if we get rid of Perry do we not also get rid of the Lt. Gov? Kinky's looking pretty good right now.As far as legislation goes, the Lt. Gov. in Texas has far more power than the Governor.
But as for Kinky... "why the hell not?" :D
Who is or isn't elected governor shouldn't matter a hill of beans in Bowie County, or Brazoria County, or any other county. Just like the selection of POTUS shouldn't affect anyone's life, no matter what part of the country they're in. But our collectively short national attention span means that the vast majority of our fellow citizens know absolutely nothing about their local and county politics, next to nothing about their state politics, and perhaps can name the President when it comes to national politics.
They only need that one name to ascribe credit or blame for whatever happens in their life. "The President runs the country!" is their mantra, so he ought to know about the potholes, or the crack houses, or the nutria-riddled levees.
I'm on the verge of only voting for candidates who will work to eliminate their own jobs.

My school funding bill: everyone keep their money and educate their own children.
Bowing to the reality that government schools are inevitable in our current climate, I suggest that no taxes be collected or administered above the county level, and that the funds collected be spent solely on schools within that district or county.
