No, he was a South Korean with an immigrant visa (green card). As such, he was legal to buy and possess guns and ammunition.

But your point is still valid: gun control laws (including Virginia's one-handgun-per-month rule) didn't stop this tragedy. The incident is more proof that gun control is a failure.

Feelings are important, so I'm glad they felt safe. Right up until they were killed, that is.

One of the craziest quotes I saw today was from a student, who said, "I'm from the Middle East. I'm not used to things like this."

Drudge is leading this, and his second link is titled "Gun free zone", which links to a January 2006 article about how a bill to allow legal concealed carry on campus died in committee without even any discussion.
