Texas is great. Just wait until you drive to Arkansas and go tiptoeing through that minefield!Photoman wrote:What I don't like about TX CHL.....having to be a ding dang drugstore lawyer to use it!
I can deal with equipment difficulties. It is the abundance of "off limits" areas and lack of clear legal definitions that makes using the CHL a real pain in the rear.

But here's the relevant statute:No4Mk1 wrote:From the Statute S411.171(3) "Concealed handgun" means a handgun, the presence of which is not openly discernible to the ordinary observation of a reasonable person.propellerhead wrote:What about printing? Can you get arrested for printing?
Every instructor I know has interpreted this to mean that simply "printing" will not get you in trouble, although it is still not a good idea. Most people who are not themselves CHL holders or Peace Officers will never have a clue even if you are "printing".
§ 46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE HOLDER.
(a) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, and intentionally fails to conceal the handgun.
Accidental printing is not a criminal offense.
